I had a shorter phone call than usual with Queenie, because the Fireman has finally reached his retirement date, and they had an appointment to go and sort out some related financial matters. And the Sparrowhawk got home early from his money counting, because there was a funeral that his fellow counters wanted to attend, so they started early. Did we accomplish miracles of work? Well, sure, if you count some extra time spent sitting side by side, reading and listening to music. We were both unaccountably awake for too long in the pre-dawn hours, so our ambitions were limited. Later on, he took a nap, although I did not. We had a Zoom engagement scheduled with our other book club, but it was canceled due to some essential members not having had a chance to read the book yet. We've put it off a week. The day started out foggy, but it cleared up enough for the Sparrowhawk to go to the gym tonight. I cooked some green beans and potatoes to go with the leftover stew, and carried a few more things up or down the stairs. It was nice to have a day when I didn't have to go out and do anything.
