SeaOtter of Bluster
Mar. 6th, 2025 09:25 pmThe first thing I saw this morning was--more snow! Funny little drifts of it, brought by the high winds last night. I was mad because I thought I had slept well, but I still felt tired and achy. The Sparrowhawk suggested we could go out to the bakery and get coffee, since this was one of the few days of this week when we didn't have to be somewhere else. This only precipitated a rant from me about all the things I needed to do and couldn't, as I stomped off to take a shower. By the time I was dressed, I had thought better of it. I've been in a rut that I need to get out of. And my ladies had given me a gift card to the bakery for my birthday. We went and got coffee and sandwiches and didn't talk about any sad things. It was the perfect thing for a snowy day.
As we were coming out of the bakery, the sun came out, and in a very short time, the snow had all vanished. I had a Lavender Love Latte, which is like cafe miel with lavender. I learned something from this, to wit that I like lavender and I like cinnamon, but I don't like them together. The combination makes a taste that is really weird to me. I don't hate it, but I wouldn't choose it again. I can't say I got a lot done. I sent off a birthday card to the Philosopher. I went for a walk at long last. The sun was out, but it was cold! I should have worn another layer. But at least it was a start on getting in better shape for walking the cities of the Danube.
The Amazing Race is on again, and I'm excited, because I love getting glimpses of all the different places.
