Firefly of Trill
Apr. 4th, 2025 09:29 pmI would like to mark myself safe from any possibility of tornadoes thanks to a very LOUD AND CLEAR test of the siren warning system today at noon. It was a nice sunny day, and I had lowered the blinds and was trying to take a nap. I had a wretched night in which I was plagued by all the bad thoughts and had the vigilance button turned up to eleventy, so I had long wakeful periods and could not go back to sleep for the life of me. As a result, I squandered what would have been a perfectly nice day. I'm sure I should be grateful to the municipal authorities for making REALLY SURE THE SIRENS ARE WORKING, but on this particular day, I can't say that I am.
In other news, the roofers came to take a look at our leak. It is due, as these things so often are, to a poorly sealed vent pipe. Also, when the siding guys took off the old gutters, they didn't seal the holes where the support straps had been nailed on. The Sparrowhawk is going to send them pictures of their unfortunate oversight. The roofers will come back in a week or two and fix all this, so we must hope that there won't be any more torrential downpours in the meantime.
I haven't been feeling very well for the last couple of days, though, as usual, I don't really know what's wrong. I'm tired of it and hope it will go away soon. Also, no tornadoes plz. I think they sound the sirens to drive them away. It's working so far. And it was nice that in the early morning when I was not sleeping, I heard the birds tuning up cheerfully.
