By some strange conjunction of fortunate stars, we both slept pretty well last night. I'm continuing my upward trek, and survived two Zooms today. When I heard the Sparrowhawk's sepulchral sneezing, I suggested he might want to try another covid test before making any plans. A definite red line appeared immediately. Yep, he's got it. In his case, the symptoms are just those of a bad cold, and he's treating them with the usual patent nostrums. Then I thought I'd better test myself too, in hopes that maybe I'd be virus-free and able to take over the role of representative to the outside world. No such luck--but the red line is less intense than it was a couple of days ago, so the viral load must be weakening. It's a regular old Krankenhaus around here. Everything is disheveled and needs a stern tidying and cleaning, but alas, I'm not that much better yet. Maybe tomorrow. I had some discussion via text with Madame's other friends, and there's someone who would like to visit her tomorrow in my place, so that is arranged. I've ordered some more shampoo bars. We hang on tight as best we can.
