We got going earlier than usual again this morning, and arrived at the eye doctor by 9:30 so they could look at the Sparrowhawk's second eye. It too was pronounced fine. His vision is still a little blurry, which the doc said is because of some inflammation that should subside in the next few days. She says this is totally normal. Now he has to put eyedrops in both eyes. I told him I was perfectly willing to do it for him, and there was no character development in putting your own eyedrops in, so he might as well let me. I took him home, picked up a thermal mug of coffee, and went over to Dragonfly's for our monthly meditation and lunch.

I got to the restaurant slightly ahead of her, and I had the audacity to order myself a drink. They've added some intriguing new cocktails to their menu. My choice had rum, banana liqueur, Amaro Pazzo and cocoa bitters. The rum and banana would have made it sweeter than I normally like, but the amaro and bitters cut the sweetness in a pleasant way. I also ate about half of a Nashville chicken sandwich. It was a delightful time with Dragonfly, and a tasty meal, but sadly, I paid for it when I got home. My stomach was not happy with me, and I was generally so tired and miserable that I took an afternoon nap, which is strictly against my normal practice. I dreamed I was in a big fight with everybody about everything and woke up dejected. I had a chat with a friend in which we agreed that pretty much everything that ails us would probably be fixed if we could just sleep for about a hundred years. That may not be true, but great minds have similar delusions. Where's that enchanted spindle when you actually want one!

Bonus good news for the Sparrowhawk: we were looking in the western sky for the promised view of crescent moon and planets. We saw the moon, but it was just a little too hazy for stars. But the fun part for him was that he found that after his surgery, he can use his binoculars again! I'll be really happy when he is all healed up and finds out how well he can see again.
