Remember that tree I wanted the tree service to come and check out? Yeah . . . it is now cracked in half and flipped over into the neighbor's back yard, after a day of high winds. I'm so very happy that it apparently hasn't damaged anyone's house. It's propped up by another damaged tree at one end, and snagged on the power lines at the other. So we would really like Consumers Power to come and look at it, and let the tree service know if it's safe to remove. But, since the line is still intact and the power isn't out, they are taking their sweet time. Frustrating. But could be worse. I really hate figuring out that something in wrong just in time to watch it happen anyway. I'm afraid that's the news that is occupying most of my mental space at the moment.

i know those feelings

back during the dotcom bubble, i was surrounded by ppl half my age. i would watch them running 100mph at a brick wall and open my mouth ... and then ask myself "and how did you respond to unsolicited advice at that age, hm?" and i would close my mouth and turn my head, so i didn't have to see the carnage.

c'mon, tho: didn't even take the power out. nobody was hurt. nobody's house is damaged. this, truly, is a best-case scenario, under the circumstances.

Whew. Glad it didn't land on anyone's house or car.
