Apr. 1st, 2026 08:25 pmWe are home from our trip to the City of the Broad Shoulders! Two days with young Aquinas! So much joy! So many steps! He is still the most adorable grandson under six that we have! We had one day of watching over him at his own house, where his mom was working from home in her office and so was occasionally available, and one day at our B&B, a fantastic place with many fascinating things to explore. Aquinas is supposed to take a nap every day, but by yesterday evening, he was in an altered state of consciousness, because he just hadn't been able to bring himself to sleep on either day. Life was just too exciting. He wept when he had to go home, and we felt the same, but concealed our feelings after the manner of grownups. The Philosopher assures us that he is fully recovered today.
I had thought I might be able to blog a little on my phone, but it didn't work out. I left my laptop at home, in a bold move, and somehow survived the deprivation. We are exhausted. We ate various random leftovers that were in the refrigerator, and watched the Artemis launch. Tomorrow Tron and the Lumberjack arrive! We are definitely getting over-excited and may end up being taken home in an overwrought condition like three-year-olds if this keeps up . . . .
And speaking of which, p.s. some so-called "neighbor" of mine has been running his leafblower for the last TWO FREAKING HOURS. I want to go out there and grab him by the throat. It's dark out, you lunatic! WTF is wrong with some people . . . .
