The past week was wonderful, but exhausting, and I feel that I need a break from one task after another, accompanied by lots and lots of communication. However, this was not to be, as the usual activities of the week continue unabated. Today, I talked to Queenie, had a Zoom with Moonmoth and the Nonesuch, and engaged in our Zoom book club. In between, I had some random texting with both of my sisters. I also cooked a hurried and very simple dinner so the Sparrowhawk would have something to eat before he went to the gym. As I suspected would happen, he lost a pound while traveling, so as he put it "you'll have to fatten me up again." This shouldn't be too hard. Meanwhile, I have not had enough sleep, and my stomach is very ouchy. It was a strange day, weather-wise. Very cold and windy, with the sun coming out--oh joy!--and then disappearing again into rolling clouds--oh woe! I'm completely baffled by the weather, but the daffodils keep on opening, and the peony keeps on doggedly putting forth pink shoots, and now the lilac bush is budding too. It would be an unexpected miracle if there were flowers this year. It's never happened yet, but there's always hope.
