ismoI think that living with stacks of things that don't belong where they currently reside is getting on my nerves. And I cannot return them to an orderly space. It's not under my control. I have to wait until other people complete their tasks. Meanwhile, life goes on, and this stuff gets in the way more and more. On the bright side, it looks as if we have the dining room arranged so fourteen people can eat there, although with some care in squeezing. It looks as if we have enough chairs, too. I could have borrowed some, but I don't think we'll need to. When we first moved in here, we had a memorable Christmas dinner for twenty, with the tables laid out in the living room, but since we acquired a large piano, this is no longer possible. I have some anxiety about how this will all work out, but at least I have some kind of a plan.
This plan, however, involved moving all the house plants out of the dining room and into the living room, where they don't belong. My life is a giant Tetris game right now. This morning, I wanted to test the yeast before I went shopping, so if it turned out to be ineffective, I could get more. However, it puffed up like nobody's business. I didn't want to waste it, so I emptied it into the bread bowl and added some flour and water and let it get started. After giving the Sparrowhawk his First Breakfast, I finished mixing up the dough and let it rise while I looked up recipes and made a grocery list, and moved some more things. I had to wait while the bread rose, so I could pop it into the oven before going to the grocery store. And the Sparrowhawk was working on the taxes, and helping me out with a financial website that had been giving me a hard time, so I had to hang around to participate in that. Finally everything came together, and I made a quick dash to the store. When I came home, the Sparrowhawk had just taken four loaves of bread out of the oven, so now I have a stash in the freezer for later.
Someday everything will be back to normal . . . .
