Oh lordy, I am tired. Although I've done nothing but sit around all day! Today was the day my friend Dragonfly's wife, the Minister, had surgery to repair her esophagus. Dragonfly asked if I'd come and sit with her in the waiting room. So I was at the hospital from 11 to 5. It was an extensive surgery, and started late into the bargain. We had a nice lunch in the food court, talked about movies, music, family. It would have been a pleasant catch-up date if not for the omnipresent anxiety. I feel as if I talked too much, but she assured me she had a lot of time on her hands and enjoyed the distraction. I brought some coloring books and my colored pencils, and we spent some time coloring healing mandalas. Periodic reports from surgery sounded good, but I haven't heard anything since Dragonfly went to the recovery room and I came home. Minister is in ICU for the time being. I really hope she'll be okay.

The Sparrowhawk ordered pizza for dinner. I took a nap, but had to wake up to call my mother. I didn't even try to explain what I'd been doing all day. Dragonfly's mom is 96 and is in the hospital, but she couldn't go see her because she had to be here for the Minister. Tough times! It was a really nice new hospital. I hope they're taking good care of the Minister.
