Glade of Bliss

I slept later than usual, and then attended the UU women's lunch, so that took up a big part of the day. More people than usual came, because we ate at a place that nearly everyone likes. It's a restaurant near the lake. It's not cheap, but all their food is very tasty. I had the veggie pizza and took half of it home for the Sparrowhawk. My friend Dragonfly was there. She's vegan, and ordered the roasted acorn squash, adorned with a lovely heap of assorted roast vegetables. She also ordered a pile of house-made root chips for the table. They're quite yummy. I tried to slip her a couple of dollars to help pay for them, but then her wife, the minister, slipped it back to me so I had to accept. I enjoyed being there for about fifteen minutes, just until we ordered. Then I thought "Okay, time to go home." But no--I had to stay for the rest of lunch! I got back into the social groove, partly through sheer force of will. I do like people, but I am so not an extrovert. Fortunately, people talk to me anyway. And I do my best to spread a little cheer around.
