I forgot that I was asked for that biscuit recipe. It is the simplest thing in the world. These are "Drop Biscuits" from the Farm Journal Cookbook, published 1959.

2 cups sifted flour [but I never do sift it any more]
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup heavy cream

Sift dry ingredients together. Add eggs and cream. Stir to mix (dough should be lumpy and soft). [I use a fork to mix it up] Drop from tablespoon onto baking sheet. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) 15 minutes. Makes 12 large biscuits. [I bake them until they are a little bit golden on top--it might take more than 15 minutes, depending on your oven.]

The description of this in the cookbook says, "Help yourself to two; split, insert butter so it can be melting in the second while you eat the first."
