As I chatted with a friend about seeing "The Last Jedi," he said he hoped I'd enjoy the movie. I said, "I'll enjoy the experience, although I'll probably disapprove of the content." That turned out to be mostly true. We saw it yesterday, and I did enjoy it, in spite of its flaws. I disapproved less than I expected to. And it was so poignant to see Old Princess/General Leia, knowing that she's no longer with us. Snf.

As usual, I'm way behind with my Christmas preparations. Sigh. But Tron and the Lumberjack will be here tomorrow, whether I'm behind or not, and Christmas will start as if by magic. The tree is up, thanks to the Sparrowhawk, waiting to be decorated, and holly branches are decorating various spots.

The doctor has said definitely that my mother doesn't have a UTI or any type of detectable infection. This is good in a way, but it's also not good, because it means that this sudden drop in physical and mental capacity doesn't seem to have a fixable cause. It's just a thing that's happening. And when you're 91, that kind of thing usually only goes in one direction. Talking to her on the phone has become quite an ordeal because she falls asleep in mid-conversation, and finds it very difficult to understand anything I say. I'm glad we'll be seeing her on Friday.
