SpindleTree of Ember
Nov. 26th, 2019 01:38 amI'm in a grumpy and complainy state of mind, but will spare you the details. We completed our journey, not without mishaps, fortunately of a relatively minor variety. It was generally uncomfortable all along the way, and we didn't get into Wilmington till after 1 am. Still, we are here, in a perfectly adequate hotel for one night, until we can check into the beach house tomorrow. I'm sure after getting some sleep I'll be ready to see my peeps tomorrow and enjoy the day. I amused myself on the plane by re-reading a book called Walking Home, in which the author, Sonia Choquette, walks the Camino across the Pyrenees and northern Spain. I really wasn't that interested in her spiritual journey, but I thoroughly enjoyed all of her struggles with rain, cold, wind, mud, rocks, sore toes and blistered feet. They provided a useful distraction from my own woes of the moment.
