BlueDick of Trill
Mar. 23rd, 2020 11:18 pmWell, that was a surprise. When I went up to bed and looked out the upstairs window, everything was gleaming white! A half-inch of snow arrived stealthily and covered everything. "Oh well, it will melt in the morning," I said to myself. But in the morning, it had snowed more, and not only was there a thicker layer on the ground, but all the branches and twigs of the still-bare trees were delicately coated with snow once more. However, it did melt as the day went on. It seemed cold and dark out most of the day, and I was not feeling motivated to go out, but the Sparrowhawk talked me into a stroll just before sunset. I think he knows how cranky I get when I spend too long indoors. The clouds cleared away as we walked. As the robins chanted their sleepy evening song, the sun blazed out in the west and touched them with rosy light.
Deb called with disturbing news: her younger brother in California has COVID-19. He is hospitalized, sedated and intubated. He's not young and is diabetic. I will be anxious along with her until we hear better news. We also talked to our Nipper. His doctor has told him to quarantine himself for 14 days, so he'll be taking sick leave from work. He said he would be tested tomorrow, but I don't know how long it will take to get the results.
