I'm feeling somewhat better today, perhaps because the sun came out. I went for a walk and was even too hot with my sweater on! Hellobores are up in the woods. Sprouts and buds are creeping stealthily forward, a little more every day. In my yard, there's one lonely purple crocus and a sprinkle of tiny snowdrops. We communicated with the Nipper. He got tested for COVID-19 today, but it will be 24-48 hours before he will hear the results. He says he's actually feeling somewhat better and we should not worry about him, but of course, we are still concerned. Meanwhile he's still on self-isolation. Deb spoke with a nurse, but there was no news. Her brother is "stable," but still on the respirator. He took a test a week ago, but the results had not come back before he ended up in the ER. Then, I guess, they tested him again and pushed it through faster, since he was now an urgent case. Deb points out that when they're concerned about not having enough tests, this kind of thing promotes waste and keeps people from being treated in a timely manner. Just another example of how poorly supplied and coordinated our response has been.
