I actually slept for 8 hours--huzzah. When I woke up, the sun was coming in the window beautifully. I got up hastily, thinking "Oh boy! Maybe I'll go for a nice walk!" But as I was dressing--literally, just in a moment's space--there came an audible rush of wind outside. It blew and blew, and by the time I got downstairs to open the shades and look out, the sunlight had vanished and grey clouds covered the sky. Then it started raining. So, no walk today. More intrepid (or desperate) souls were seen striding up and down my street in their puffy vests and hats. I keep seeing neighbors I've never met, now that everyone is stuck at home and can't go to the gym to exercise. I'm hoping all this rain has been good for my hopeful little garden seeds.

I got email from the Duchess that dear Dr. Nurse is going to Manhattan tomorrow with a 68-bed respiratory unit to help the people of New York. An old friend from PA who now lives in Minnesota was so sick that her daughter was fearing the worst and thinking about taking her to the hospital. But she is somewhat better today, so that may be a false alarm. No news of Deb's brother yet. Oh my, the news is so distressing. May all of you be safe and well.
