ButterPecan of Bloom
May. 29th, 2020 10:26 pmToday I learned one thing from the news that wasn't terrible. When a spaceship blows up, the official NASA term for it is RUD: Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly. I'll keep this in mind next time someone has a meltdown, so I can say "How RUDe!"
It started raining about 4 in the morning, and continued for hours. Which I know because I had an uncomfortable night. I've been taking some Tylenol before bed, but last night, my stomach hurt so much I couldn't face any more pills, so I skipped it. My joints were very painful, so I guess that shows that taking some painkiller at night is a good idea. I had a lot of social interaction today. My friend Dragonfly and I tried meditating via Zoom for the first time. It worked out quite well, and it was nice to see her and do a little catching up. By the time we finished, the rain had stopped, and the sun came out. Later in the afternoon, we took part in a drive-by birthday celebration for the Poet. The Sparrowhawk, in a bold move, went to his book club in person. They sat out in the host's back yard in lawn chairs. While he was out, I went for an evening walk. The air was fresh and cool after the rain, and the half moon was in the sky. The purple pod beans I planted before the last round of weather have come up nicely! And this year, the rabbits couldn't nibble them off, because we have the fence up. The bunnies are very cute, though. Sometimes a baby one hides in the grass with only its ears sticking up. Tomorrow I don't have any social engagements, so I hope to do some more weeding.
