Jun. 25th, 2020 09:56 pmWhile the Sparrowhawk went to his PT this morning, I actually got some weeding done. I went around the side of the hedge as well, where a phalanx of thistles that I cut down last year are sprouting again, like Cadmus's army. Some of the thistles, I was able to pull up by the roots, but others were too entrenched, and I just cut them down with the clippers and stuffed them in a bag. I didn't feel as if I spent enough time at it, but I filled up a yard waste bag, and the front garden bed looks better. It still needs work on some lesser invaders. After the Sparrowhawk came home, we went to get our second dose of shingles vaccine. While at the pharmacy, I realized (ha ha--as if this were a surprise) that I don't like waiting. It makes me very irritable. I also resent doing stupid tasks, like filling out forms. I feel I need to find a good way to calm down about this, because it's not going to get any better. Coronavirus has made everything more tedious and time-consuming with all the procedures, and the older you get, the longer everything takes, as well.
I did quite a bit of writing on my story, but it wasn't my favorite kind. I had left a blank space and skipped over a scene, to motivate myself by moving on to a part that was more interesting. Now I have to fill in the empty space, and of course it turns out to be more complicated than I thought! So it, too, takes longer. My punctured arm now hurts quite a lot. But, on the bright side, I'll never get shingles!
