Jun. 26th, 2020 08:58 pmOh my goodness, I am feeling so sick. My arm hurts when I touch it, and if I want to use it, I have to move it very carefully. My stomach is upset and I've gone back to oatmeal, toast, and chicken soup. I ache all over and have chills. I'm shivering under the blanket. My temperature is up over 100, which even a person whose normal temp wasn't 97,6 would have to admit is a fever. Don't worry because I'm sure it's not covid-19. My breathing is fine and I'm not coughing. It's just my immune system freaking out over the shot. I really wish it would go away, because it is putting me seriously behind in my preparations for the Nipper's visit. I couldn't get anything done today--or rather, I chose not to try and the Sparrowhawk kept reining me in every time I started fretting. I insisted on getting up and helping him with a trip to the farmers market, because I wanted to buy a whole flat of strawberries, and I didn't want him to have to carry it. Raptor LOVES fresh berries--as who does not?--so I wanted to have a lot. We also got coffee--not Death Wish, because the Nipper can't quite tolerate that kind of high octane--green beans, and a jug of maple syrup. We need to do more shopping, but they won't arrive till Monday, and I want everything to be nice and fresh. Besides, I can't really think clearly about menu planning right now. When we got home, I had to go lie down.
I meant to at least do some writing, which doesn't require physical strength. But I didn't. A storm has arrived from across the big lake, with thunder, lightning, darkness, and drumming of rain on the roof. They may be having a tornado south of here, and the weather woman is saying cheerfully, "If you live in Covert, you should take cover now. Go into your safe place. It will only be 15 minutes or so. Any outdoor furniture and trees--yes, trees meet their demise on a day like today!" I love her narrative. It's enjoyable to hear the word "demise" in a weather report. We may have another wave of storm in a couple of hours. I hope it won't take the power out. I could live without that today.
