Lagoon of Leave
Sep. 23rd, 2020 08:48 pmI had another night of broken sleep, leading to the usual time awake before daybreak and then a nap after the sun rose, which meant my morning was less than productive. My current strategy: 1. Stay in bed and try to go back to sleep until I can't take it any more. 2. Get up and read something until my eyes start to cross. 3. Go back to bed and see if I can sleep NOW. Ah well.
It was another beautiful summery day, even though it's fall now. We're expecting a few more warm days, and then a cold front. So I'm still trying to get outside as much as possible to enjoy what's left. My plan for today called for weeding by the back porch, but obviously that didn't happen. I changed the sheets and turned the mattress. It's a big mattress, but I was pleased to discover I could "do it mineself" as the young Diva used to declare stoutly. I watered my plants, although I didn't have time to weed them. I was greatly displeased to see that those four-footed scoundrels, the deer, had been in the yard and had eaten young leaves off my rose bushes, and nipped off all the tendrils they could reach from the bean plants. I'm so mad. Banishing deer is definitely something I would use black magic for, if I had any. I had a chat with Queenie, though a brief one because the Fireman came home from a check-up, and she wanted to hear how it went.
