Feb. 13th, 2021 10:08 pmI did a few teeny weeny things today. I wrote some mail, and three belated valentine's day/thank you cards to the kids, for rescuing my 70th birthday from COVID oblivion. One more to go. I put away laundry and a stack of books and made three dozen very delicious chocolate chip cookies. The Sparrowhawk says it's a good thing he isn't giving up cookies for Lent. It snowed slowly but steadily all day, but I haven't bothered to shovel anything. Maybe tomorrow.
One of the grocery store flyers that came with the paper advertised Valentine's Day treats. Among them: heart-shaped slices of prime rib. Languoustines in pairs with their little heads and tails curled together in a heart shape. Heart-shaped pierogies! Also, pink and red cannolis. (But no pink and red heart-shaped guns.) This would all make quite a festive meal but for the fact that it creeps me out a little. It remains to be seen what we're eating tomorrow, but it probably won't be heart-shaped.
