I got email from my editor that started off "I spent my Friday night reading your outline and I absolutely loved it!" Ha. That is the kind of thing that writers like to hear. It is bittersweet due to the fact that I could never get my former editors in traditional publishing to say that. They always had some kind of problem with me. "We love your unique product. Now could you please stop being so different?" Ah well. I take what I can get. Today I got up to 5000 words, so I'm glad I went ahead and started writing before I got the okay. Now I can sail onward.

I met Madame for lunch, at the middle eastern place this time. I thought it would be nice to go somewhere different. I think it was a mistake, though. Toward the end of lunch, she was looking uncomfortable. I asked if her back hurt, and she said that it did. The seating just wasn't quite right for her. Next time we'll go back to the bookstore. She had a new haircut, and was looking very nice. However, she still has a bleeding ulcer, and the first appointment she can get with the gastroenterologist is in June. Doctors!!! They are so frustrating. I got bad news about another older friend from the UU church. She broke her wrist recently, had surgery and went to rehab. Where she promptly fell again, this time breaking her HIP. Back in the hospital. It's sad. Getting old is no picnic, for sure.

I got a surprise card via snail mail from one of the ladies who used to take care of my parents. She wanted to give me her new address up north, where they have recently retired. This was very sweet of her. I spent an hour or so cleaning up my office while the Sparrowhawk was at the gym. I got rid of a bunch of papers and filed some things. And then I had to quit because I was having brain overload. There was sleet all night last night, and rain all day--a good time to not go anywhere.
