I'm tired, probably from too much people-ing. Yesterday, I had to get up early to drop off the Sparrowhawk at his money-counting job at church, before hustling over to my yearly Medicare appointment, followed immediately by a visit with Dragonfly, who came in and sat in my living room until I got home. The Sparrowhawk got a ride home, and arrived at exactly the same time I did. We had conversation, meditation, and found a lunch place that was open on our third try. I also had a Zoom with Moonmoth and the Nonesuch. The Sparrowhawk went to the gym, and I thought about exercising, but didn't feel up to it.

My doctor visit took longer than I thought. For some reason she wanted to go into detail about everything, and has decided to put me on yet another blood pressure medication, because my blood pressure has gone up. Well, I ask you--whose blood pressure has NOT gone up, things being as they are? The good news is that if my BP goes down again, maybe I can quit the one I'm on now. I don't understand any of this, but okay. Whatever. The good news is that my heart sounds are great, and my arteries sound clear, so yay. Naturally, she also had to show me my weight graph, like I am unaware. Hello, I live here in this body. I'm signed up for a video appointment in a month, so she can check out my blood pressure. "And I can also check your weight," she added cheerily. "You should lose four pounds by then. A pound a week is what I like to recommend." Oh, doctor, for shame. Are you really going to haul out that old chestnut? I am embarrassed for you. "Get used to living with disappointment," I replied. "Because that isn't going to happen." She has known me a long time, so she was only mildly disturbed by my lack of faith. More good news is that I didn't have to draw the clock. She said she has no concerns about my memory, though I was welcome to draw a clock if I really wanted to.

This morning, I talked to Queenie for a long time, and then was reminded that today was the day we were going to have lunch at the Antiochan Orthodox church fund-raiser, because a friend of the Sparrowhawk's gave us tickets. Uttering some inappropriate exclamations of irritation, I dashed upstairs without a shower to put on my public garments. Only when I came back downstairs did the Sparrowhawk inform me that he had read the tickets, and what they actually said was that the lunch was drive-in and pick-up only. He went to pick up the food, and I got my shower after all, following which I put my clothes on all over again. I do get tired of this process, but I guess I should be grateful that I'm still getting dressed, no matter how many thousands of times I've done it before. Lunch was quite delicious--sfeehas, lamb kofta, salad, rice mixed with tomato and green beans and a hint of cinnamon, pita and hummus, and piece of baklava for dessert. We managed to get out for a walk before dark. It was almost too much for the Sparrowhawk, whose legs are not moving very fast today, but we made it, and then dragged our 11 bags of leaves down to the curb to be picked up and composted.

Speaking of people who might have trouble drawing a clock, I'll be seeing Madame tomorrow as usual. Mademoiselle says they'll be doing the move Thursday when her mom will be with one of her paid helpers. That's okay with me! I'm sure tomorrow will be fraught enough anyway. Also, Mademoiselle has asked if I might come for an extra visit on the weekend, I guess just to normalize the new place. I'll be happy to go over and get the tour. I just hope she doesn't request that I take her back home!
