IceFloe of Sleet

Well, that was quite a day. I had a two-hour conversation with a guy about events on which I felt I had information and commentary that could be useful. I know I'm being cryptic, but it's not a subject I care to discuss here. I also had an extra mammogram in which my flesh was compressed into geometric shapes I had not considered possible for the human form, followed by a fun ultrasound. I'm happy to report that, just as I surmised, whatever it was that the first mammogram portrayed was pronounced to be not a problem and not something requiring follow up of any kind. It was a waste of my time, but the nice thing about the program in this town is that everyone has apparently been educated to be super nice. So they have pleasant waiting rooms with lovely original art and soothing colors, and technicians who do their jobs extremely well and are cheerful about it. So it's not as much of a pain in the neck (and elsewhere) as it might be. Then I had an hour and a half Zoom with friends, followed by a (delightful) surprise call from the Diva, who wanted to inquire about the Sparrowhawk's back. We were happy to tell her that he's feeling much better, although he still has to be cautious and take it easy. And THEN we finally got around to warming up our scrappy meal of leftovers plus some freshly cooked vegetables and rice. Holy smokes, that was a lot of talking. I was about to say I'm going to take a vow of silence for the next 24 hours, but ha ha, who am I kidding. Words, words, words are what I do. And besides, I have to talk to Queenie tomorrow. Then we watched a little ice skating, and then the final episode of Pride and Prejudice, definitely a go-to comfort watch, and full of magnificent phrases.
