Nothing much happened yesterday, and nothing much has happened today, either, but I don't want to slide back into the habit of not posting. Yesterday the sky partially cleared, and I woke up to a red-gold sunrise, something that hasn't happened for awhile. There was a matching sunset, ten times as glorious, that has been immortalized by better photographers than I. It was quite something.

Last night, both of us had extended awake times in the pre-dawn hours, and then slept late. We'd had energetic plans, but they didn't work out. Again we thought we'd take the Christmas tree down. It's still standing. I have to say, I enjoyed watching the rare afternoon sunlight shine through its branches on the ornaments. The Sparrowhawk has a set of blown-glass ornaments in the shapes of the Sun and planets, and they looked especially pretty with the sunlight sparking their inner fires. Then he took them down and wrapped them in tissue paper again. Some progress was made. I put away a bunch of random decorations, and he took down a few more things from the tree. Then we went to church and were too tired after that. My legs are really aching. I'll blame the weather for that. It will be colder than usual for the next few days. The polar vortex strikes again! tThe weather people are saying that it will be colder than it's been in six years. Maybe I should keep the Christmas tree so we can burn it in the fireplace if necessary.
