DendriticSnow of Sleet
Jan. 16th, 2025 09:48 pmYep, it snowed again last night. Just a couple of inches, but I still had to get out the shovel again. I was glad I had cleared out the snow, because we got a call from the dealer that our car was ready! They had given it an extra day to sit in the lot without being driven so they could make sure the battery wouldn't die. It was kind of a long process to actually retrieve the vehicle. We had to wait while the ticket was printed out and explained to us, and then out of the goodness of his heart, Jason showed us the device they use in the shop to to jump a battery, in case we want to get one. We might do that. It doesn't need cables or anything. Jason admired how well our car drives in the snow. Yeah, we know! That's why we want it back! The Sparrowhawk took the rental car back and got a ride home from Enterprise. Then he took our car out and ran some errands. After that, he was tired out. I warmed up some soup out of the freezer and made bacon and tomato sandwiches for dinner. They weren't BLTs, because we were out of lettuce.
The Sparrowhawk took a nap, and woke up just in time for our scheduled FaceTime for Aquinas' SECOND BIRTHDAY! he seemed a little tired and distracted at first--he had just come home from daycare and a grocery stop with his parents--but after awhile he became more animated and gave us quite a tour of his trucks and fire engines, and some of his animals, too. They will celebrate more on the weekend, when he'll get balloons and cake, and by then, our birthday present for him will have arrived--a compendium of classic Sesame Street episodes. He already showed us his Cookie and Elmo.
I think Madame enjoyed yesterday a bit too much. She called and texted me several times today, wanting me to take her out to lunch again. I am perplexed because yesterday she told me she was going to the dentist today. Who knows what really happened!
