The weather was beautiful again today. A difficult choice was before me: do a lot of work around the house, or go for a walk? Hmm. We walked around the woods path and did pretty well. Now we just have to keep it up until June. We had our customary Zoom with Deb and the Prussian and learned about the current state of their kitchen. The Prussian thinks the renovation may be finished by the end of the month. Deb is hopeful that it might be done before then, but accepts that he could be right. She gave a description of her new stove that had me drooling the way some women drool over diamonds and pearls. Six burners and two ovens! Oh my. It sounds like a real gem among kitchen appliances.

I sent off a little surprise for the Diva, and a birthday card for a friend. I even made a few notes for a story, though it seems even more unlikely that I will really write it than it does that Deb's kitchen will be ready before the equinox.

This evening I went out to my meeting about the child protection policy. The meeting was supposed to end by 8:30, but lasted until 9:30, when everyone agreed we'd have to finish at some other time. We were going through the policy line by line. It is a good policy, but has some ambiguities where clarification is still needed. Not a fun project, but a necessary one, and the other committee members are good company.

When I got home, I found the Sparrowhawk amusing himself by watching an old Columbo episode, which was much better fun than my meeting. He didn't think it would be too late to enjoy a ginger ale float, or a Brown Cow as we used to call them, in honor of my mother, who used to like them. It's been years since I had one, and they are still delicious.
