All Hallows Eve
Oct. 31st, 2017 10:04 pmI looked out the window this morning when I woke up. Something white . . . what IS that?? Holy crap, it's SNOWING! Yes, it was. Snow on Halloween. And not a little snow shower, either, but big fat flakes pelting down thickly. However, after an hour or two, it all melted, for which I'm very grateful. And so are all the little kids who didn't have to slog through the snow in their cute costumes.
At the last minute, we obtained a pumpkin and carved it into a jack-o-lantern. We had colcannon and sausages for dinner, and dressed in our costumes--Vindictus Viridian, former master of Hogwarts, for the Sparrowhawk, and my witch outfit from Sunday for me. Then we lit candles, played spooky music, and passed out a lot of candy. We had a fair number of visitors, including the latecomers from other neighborhoods. All of them, including the late ones, had great costumes! We saw sheep and unicorns, football players, Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Spiderman, and various ghosts and monsters.
The Sparrowhawk signed his severance contract this morning--another step in a seemingly endless process. Now Evil J has to sign it, and once that's done, it's a deal.
The year is turning. . . . Happy Halloween to all!
