Grizzly of Celeste
Dec. 16th, 2020 09:35 pmStill working on Christmas prep, still feeling cranky. I don't know why, and it probably doesn't matter why. But looking back on the last few Christmases, I think I should forgive myself for having a little Christmas trauma. I'm sure I'll be fine when our guests arrive and we quit scurrying around and relax. We're worried about the big Nor'easter. Tron and the Lumberjack will have to drive through the edge of it if they come tomorrow. We have implored Tron not to drive in a blizzard, and she says she won't.
We stood in line outside the UPS to get two contracts notarized. One was my contract for the story I'm writing. I've never heard of a publisher who required the contract to be notarized, but the guy in charge at this place is very particular, I guess. It was very weird and stressful trying to make our way around the store keeping six feet apart. They only let five people at a time inside. We all wore masks, but I had to briefly remove mine so the notary could check my face against my driver's license. Then we dashed over to the Christmas tree place. There were only a dozen or so trees left, and they were all quirky. We chose the best, a little spruce tree. So it's funny that I was just talking about spruce trees yesterday! This one is a Black Hills spruce, not as prickly as most. We brought it home and set it up, and cooperated on making dinner. And then I was kind of done for the night. I always imagine that I'll get lots done after dinner, but I never can. There's a lot to be done tomorrow!
