I had to turn on the bedside lamp for awhile in the wee hours, so I could see all around me and ascertain that no six-foot long snakes were involved. Because there were a whole lot of them in the crates I had to deliver in the warehouse of dreams. Just checking . . . . But I was able to turn it off and go back to sleep, so that's not too bad. Today I got out my wooden step that started life as a desk attachment for when there used to be perforated accordion rolls of computer paper that had to go through the slot in the wooden step-like thing. Now it is useful for exercise. I stepped up and down on it for half an hour, thus fulfilling my exercise requirement for the day. I wrote five percent of my story, wordcount-wise. Last night, the city plow came and plowed us in, so I went out before dark and shoveled us out again. Some people don't bother. They just gun the car over the icy ridge of hardened slush. That is not my preference. I like to get things all squared away, when I can. Then when I sail up my clean driveway, and watch the neighbors rocking and bumping over their frozen ruts, I can feel smug. Anyway, it's good exercise. I also feel pleased that I'm nearly 70 and can still sling big chunks of ice off my driveway. However, my legs hurt for sure.

i salute you

Except for about a mile of walking (partway carrying groceries), I blew off exercise yesterday to write. But you have reminded me I have a step-thing, so the bike is not my sole indoor source of cardio.
