Curlew of Bluster

Very happy that we got our second shots yesterday at 12:30. It was a sunny day, and we went for a walk in the woods through the slushy slippery snow when we got home. The snow has melted away enough that it seemed possible to take down the remaining Christmas lights among the bushes by the front door, so I started on that, the Sparrowhawk helped, and we finished it up. I was feeling cheery and fine until around supper time, and then I started to have all those feelings I get when I'm coming down with the flu or something. My respiratory system was fine, but my joints were extremely sore and stiff and I was hot/cold and eventually ran a little fever. My body really doesn't like viruses and hotly resents the incursion of even an artificial fragment into my personal space. So, a certain amount of misery in the last 24 hours, but it was not unexpected and I knew it wasn't going to get worse. I cancelled my appointment for a haircut, which was a good thing. I didn't want to do anything but lie around. I probably won't want to do anything tomorrow either. The Sparrowhawk is doing much better--just a bit of fatigue. It's another step toward a more hopeful spring.

*immune system!fireworks* My second shot is 3/17, a Wednesday. After some consideration, I put in for sick days on Thursday and Friday too, just in case.

I hope you won't need them, but I'm guessing it will be nice to at least take it easy on the day after.
