It rained in the night, and the day was cloudy and windy. I drove over to see my therapist, and stopped at the grocery store on the way back. The clouds were moving swiftly over the lake, and they were gorgeous, with the sun gleaming through their ragged edges. I managed to stuff all the vegetables into the refrigerator. I got my Baker Creek seed order in--thus using the gift card the Diva so kindly gave me for Christmas--and they sent me email later in the day to say it had shipped already! I'm still obsessing about the deer fence. I consulted a friend in PA who also has deer problems, but he had never heard of the double fence method, so he had no advice for me. Would it be worth a try? I go back and forth. Tomorrow I'll go out there and measure so I can see how many feet of fence I would need. We had soup and grilled cheese for dinner, and watched the World Championship Ice Skating women's short program.

combining errands! i missed that so much when i was exhausted & terrified. such a delight to think "ah, i'll be in the neighborhood of x. what other errands can i do on the same trip?"

Yes! I love having some degree of my ability to improvise and be spontaneous back, too. Not everything has to be so carefully planned.

Grilled cheese is the perfect dish for watching figure skating. Ice cream is also one of my traditional Watching of Skating Foods.

Ice cream, yes. For some reason it also occurs to me that water ice would be good with ice skating. But it's not something you can make at home.
