Sep. 19th, 2021 09:42 pmIt was another beautiful day. It was hot--somewhere between 84 and 88, depending on whose weather report one accessed.I spent an ungodly amount of time on Zoom--although both conversations were well worth the time. It's just too bad I don't get paid for making conversation. I'd be much more well-to-do than I am. Other than that, the Sparrowhawk very valiantly mowed the lawn and I went for a walk. I feel I have to work extra hard at trying to get stronger, because various reasons why I might still come in handy if I can stave off the fading. Going on walks is not much, but it's a start. The Sparrowhawk practiced the piano. I cleaned a bathroom and watered the garden. It might rain tomorrow, but I thought I'd better give the plants a little help to make it until then. We got some interesting news yesterday that kinda has my mind in a whirl. I don't feel I can say what it is just yet. It's not bad, but it is very unexpected. Perhaps in a few weeks I can say more.
Here's some practical information that I shared with Deb on one of the Zoom calls, and that might be useful to others as well. I had a new shirt that I wore while serving dinner to guests, and I splashed juices off the platter onto it, so it had grease spots all over. I Shout-ed it and washed it repeatedly, and put it through the dryer as they tell you NOT to. The spots didn't come out, and I despaired. But I thought before I gave up, I'd try that Oxyclean stuff that used to be in infomercials on tv. I got some detergent called ERA that boasts of having "Oxy Power 3X"!!! First I wet the shirt, applied the detergent directly, and hand-scrubbed it, and then let it soak for an hour or two. Then I put it through the washing machine with more detergent. When it came out, the spots were gone! It worked for me. Possibly it will work for you. It gave my spirits a little boost, because I really liked that shirt, and I'd only worn it a couple of times.
