I got up earlier than I wanted to so I could be on time for my yearly Medicare checkup. My doc checked me out and found everything more or less okay. She was happy that I'd had all my shots, listened to my heart, lungs, and carotid artery and said they were a-ok. I had to draw a clock (11:30) and remember three words (book, shoe, orange). For the last two years it was hamburger, paper, banana. So this is progress, I guess. She agreed that I don't need a hip replacement right now, and happily gave me a referral for some PT instead. I think she likes me. Apparently there's something about viewing my dauntless 70-year-old self that makes her feel better about life. She almost gave me a hug when leaving, then remembered not to and just patted my arm instead. Aw!

I stopped at the store on the way home to pick up a prescription and some things that hadn't been available when I was doing the shopping earlier. We had a quick Zoom with Deb and the Prussian. They are looking good, even though the Prussian had a marathon session with his new PT right before the call. Then it was time for the Sparrowhawk's piano lesson, and for me to spend some more time reading The Chessmen of Mars, from which I've already made some useful mental notes. After that, I pulled the pork and made the barbecue sauce to go with it, plus some beans, cole slaw, and a bread and butter pickle spear. After dinner I practiced my violin. I feel as if I've been very busy today, even though it doesn't sound like a lot.
