ismoI wanted to do some more yard work yesterday, but ended up spending the morning on the phone in my pjs. First with Queenie, then with the Philosopher. Wedding-related things. Some people aren't coming, yup. I'm struggling not to think about that. As I said to the Philosopher, the important thing is that he and his Lovely Friend are getting married, and we're all happy about that. I'm also having problems with my tummy again. Stomach pain and a headache last night did not make for peaceful sleep.
It still hurt today, but I was able to go out in the back yard and clean up my raised beds, pulling out weeds and the remnants of plants that have now fallen to the frost. This is something I should have done earlier, but at least it's done now. I feel good about it. The Sparrowhawk was raking leaves in the back yard. He didn't bag them, but just piled them at the edges where the ivy is. If they killed the ivy, we'd be happy, but we already know from experience that the ivy won't die. The compost truck came around and hauled away sixteen bags of leaves and weeds that we had dragged to the curb. I've finished A Fighting Man of Mars, (cannibalism, spiders, invisibility paint, disintegration rays, and all kinds of kidnappings) and have moved on to Swords of Mars. So far, just another implausible disguise plus the assassins' guild and another mad scientist--this makes three, I think.
