ismoI am disturbed. My mother has been fading a bit, for awhile, but recently, she seems to be having a sudden and precipitous drop in comprehension and executive function. Tonight's phone conversation was like speaking to someone in a parallel dimension on a bad line. I was planning to see her yesterday, but it was snowing again, and the Duchess had offered to take her to the doctor, so I let the Duchess do it. I will definitely be there this coming Friday for pre-Christmas. Something is wrong.
Up until that point, it wasn't a bad day. We had to start out by shoveling everything again. Several more inches of snow fell yesterday and last night. The trouble with shoveling snow, as I observed last year, is that it sucks up all your energy before you get to the other tasks at hand. So we didn't make a lot more progress toward getting everything sparkly for Christmas. We did go out and get a Christmas tree, some holly, and a swag or two, though. The Sparrowhawk made some very delicious pan-fried lake trout. We're now re-watching "The Force Awakens" in preparation for seeing "The Last Jedi" on Monday.
