Once again, not much going on, except recuperation and ambling around slowly. It's nice to have a big house. We can rotate around from one place of sitting to another. I was awake around 4-5 being mildly tormented by my stomach. I heard the clock strike 5. Finally I went back to sleep, and then woke up late, which I hate because then I don't have time to do anything. I put away laundry and cleaned up the kitchen. To create a bit of color, I put on another one of my sari skirts. I spent some time mentally wandering around in Barsoom. It seems very appropriate to be swathed in silk while I contemplate the adventurous life of a Princess of Mars. The Philosopher kindly sent us some of his extra test kits, so I went ahead and used up our remaining swab, just to make sure I wouldn't be infectious if I went out somewhere. As expected, there was no trace of a pink line at all. So I could go out if I could think of anywhere to go. I'm still having trouble thinking of anything fun to do for my birthday. Fun seems like a thing that has evaporated and is nowhere to be found.

We ate dinner at the kitchen table like civilized people, just for a change. But we read at the table because we almost always do. When the kids were little, there was a rule against it, but not any more! Then we took our reading material and moved to a different sitting spot in the living room, to be with the Christmas tree as it got dark outside and the lights began to glow mysteriously in the shadowy branches by the darkened window. We have to take it down soon, and I always like to take a little extra time to enjoy it before that happens.

I, too, very much enjoy having space to move around in - I was so, so happy when I moved into this house during lockdown.
