CrystalGround of Sleet
Feb. 22nd, 2022 09:59 pmFeeling grumpy. Mostly because my stomach is pestering me and I haven't been sleeping well. Yesterday: got a haircut, supervised the chimney sweep, talked to Queenie. The Sparrowhawk was supposed to be there for the chimney sweep, but there was a change of schedule and the sweep came when he had to go to his doctor's appointment. The sweep was 25 years old, and talkative. I now know soooo many things about him and his family. I'm not sure what to do with them. It's like one of those boxes of random items that turn up after you move. Except it lives in my head, and once it goes in, it never comes out of the brain attic. People like to tell me things.
This morning it was raining heavily most of the day. It was very foggy, as the clouds pressed down close to the earth. Tomorrow it will freeze again. I made a quick dash to the store to stock up on vegetables and things for the next couple of days, when I will have my new improved eye. I don't know how long it will take to get used to it. I found a perfectly good hunk of pork roast in the half price bin. Once home, I thought I might as well cook it right away. It took me half an hour to make a spice mix, rub it, sear it, pour a can of New Holland Cabin Fever brown ale over it, and put in the oven to slow roast. It's ready to eat tomorrow, when I probably won't feel like cooking. I feel that I made some progress with my outline. I hope it doesn't all evaporate out of my mind tomorrow. I'm taking my prophylactic eyedrops and preparing to not drink anything between midnight and 11:40 am. They love to torture us.

Date: 2022-02-23 07:38 am (UTC)workaround for not drinking anything (i went 5 days once with everything i.v., n.p.o., bc gall bladder might blow up at any time). swish water around in your mouth & spit it out. it's legal. cuts the discomfort quite a bit.
holding you in the light, dear one. you've done what you can. you've got this.
