Apr. 22nd, 2022 10:37 pmWell, now I DO have a fever. What--after being sick for two weeks, NOW I run a temperature? Whyyyyy . . . . I'm not happy about this, because Dr. Nurse is having a baby shower tomorrow, and I think my sister the Duchess will be there, and I really wanted to go. While it's theoretically possible that this mysterious fever will vanish and I'll be 100% okay tomorrow morning, that wouldn't be the way to bet. I'm too responsible to go anywhere near a pregnant loved one if there's any chance I'm going to make them sick. This is very sad.
The refrigerator repair person who was supposed to come last week finally showed up. He suggested we completely defrost the refrigerator, then turn it back on and see if it works properly. Everything perishable that was in the refrigerator has been moved into two coolers with ice, and the remaining bottles and jars are crowding the kitchen counter, while things from the freezer drawer have been moved into the garage freezer. Naturally, tomorrow is the day it's supposed to be EIGHTY degrees out, so we can't rely on any natural cooling. The refrigerator guy will return tomorrow to see how it's going. I am very grateful to the Sparrowhawk for taking care of this, because I couldn't have done it. My contribution was turning ham and chicken scraps into broth so the broth cold be frozen and the scraps disposed of. But I barely accomplished that before having to go sit down.
