ismoWe had one more in a long run of beautiful summer days. It didn't rain, so I'll definitely have to get the hose out and water my plants tomorrow. All my bean seeds have sprouted and are looking very stout. I'm so pleased. I've been longing since the kids left to finish up the last bit of weeding in the front flower bed, but once again I didn't have time for it. I didn't get out much yesterday, but did a lot of laundry and put it all away, and did some more catching up with friends.
Today we fulfilled my wish to go the farmers market and see if strawberries were in season. I was so happy to see that they are still available. The market was very crowded and busy, so the Sparrowhawk said he would drop me off and go to look for a parking spot. By the time he got back, I had four quarts of berries, three pasties, a pound of green beans and a box of sugar snap peas. I thought I'd better stop at that point. We walked a few blocks together, back to the parking lot behind the bakery, which was as close as he could get. It was fortunate, as it turned out, because I tempted him to buy a couple of doughnuts. It's dangerous to let me loose near the farmers market. I wrote a paltry few hundred words, and at least got poor Dejah Thoris out of the palace and into a more interesting environment, where an attempt will soon be made on her life.
