HeatDaze of Simmer
Aug. 3rd, 2022 09:05 pmToo sleepy! This weather does not agree with me. Crazy humidity and general weirdness. A big storm came across the lake and has been passing west of us, so we're just being swept by its skirts, with intermittent thunder and rain squalls. It's like a steam laundry outside, and the window are steamed up inside. I woke up too early, with a headache that lasted all day.
The Sparrowhawk had his piano lesson, and once again Dr. Nurse brought the baby over for a visit. Bird Baby gets bigger every time I see her! She can hold up her head quite well now. She's going to be pretty spunky once she figures out how to use those appendages. Dr. Music had a lesson cancellation, so he was able to have lunch with us. I fed them two kinds of little slider sandwiches--turkey or ham--potato salad, deviled eggs, and fresh berries. I tried to feed them, anyway. They eat like shy birds, although Dr. Music is more like a shy stork because he is quite tall.
They went home, and the Sparrowhawk went to meet a friend of a friend who needed to know stuff about health care. He was gone for two and a half hours, so I think the friend got an education. The Sparrowhawk said he was a sweet summer child who didn't know what DRGs were. It sounds as if his heart was in the right place, though, and I'm always happy when the Sparrowhawk gets a chance to teach someone about the things he knows. He had just time to get a bit to eat and go to the gym. I tried to work and was somewhat impeded by the headache, but managed to write another 500 words. Bit by bit.
