ismoA crimp has been put in my schedule by the fact that I forgot that at some point this was going to happen . . . it was going to snow. And snow. And keep snowing. Instead of other things I meant to do, I had to go out this morning and get started shoveling the driveway. A kind neighbor had snow-blowered the sidewalk already. Then we had Zoom with Deb and the Prussian, and then the Sparrowhawk helped get the driveway done and the car shoveled out. Every time a new snow band comes across, the cleared spaces turn white all over again. I worked on my WIP a bit, but felt slow. Had some online exchanges about Thanksgiving. Apparently the two older grandsons, Angelbaby and Muffinhead, have gone over to the non-meat camp, hence the need for squash stuffed with quinoa etc. Now I see. Fortunately, I have bought the squash and the Diva says she can bring the stuffing materials.
We thought of going out tonight, but it just kept snowing, and in the end we stayed home and watched the Great British Bake-Off finale instead. I took advantage of the extra time to make a crustless quiche for practice to see how it works. I want to do this for Friday brunch. I didn't have any mushrooms, because I went off in a huff after seeing that they didn't have any of the portobellos they had advertised at a discount. So I use bacon, onion, peppers and thinly sliced potatoes. Plus the cheese, egg, and milk/cream of course. The recipe says it will cook in 25 minutes. It NEVER does. Going on one hour . . . I do hope it will set! Things haven't gone too well in that regard for the bakers on TV.
Well, it's out of the oven and looks pretty good. Smells good too; it's making me hungry, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see how it tastes.
