Nov. 19th, 2022 08:58 pmWell, this day did not turn out quite as expected. We were planning to go out to a breakfast thing in the morning, and I was going to take the quiche along. So we got up rather more briskly than usual. I went out to shovel out the car, and behold! Our neighbor, who is a prince among men, had already shoveled not only the sidewalk, but the end of the driveway. Wow. All I had to do was brush off the car and clean up around it. We beetled off very slowly and cautiously to our venue, only to discover the whole thing had been canceled, and we had not known because we were out shoveling instead of looking at our social media. But that was okay--we just proceeded downtown to the farmers market, where we had a date to pick up our turkey and some ham. It was freezing cold. I don't know how those farmers could make it through the morning. They're heroes too.
Then we came home and made some inroads into the quiche ourselves. I made a big pan of mac and cheese to freeze and take to the Thanksgiving gathering. I sat around for awhile supposedly working on my WIP, which has now received some comments from a reader. But I just couldn't bring myself to get to work on it. I disassembled the chicken I bought on my last shopping trip and boiled the bones for broth-which I will also take with me. I made a pan of gluten free cornbread for stuffing--which I will also take with me. It's not really enough, though. I'll probably have to make another batch. I packed some of my clothes. The Sparrowhawk and I both feel tired for no apparent reason. It is still snowing, but they say it's supposed to stop sometime tonight.Ha
