LightQuell of Ember
Dec. 15th, 2022 10:02 pmI went to the grocery store and did some minimal and not too well organized shopping. I finally found some peppermint stick ice cream! I've been looking for weeks, but they were always sold out heretofore. The biggest part of my haul was canned goods and toiletries for the food pantry. I know I should really just send money, because they can get better deals than I can, but the Sparrowhawk likes to take some actual food over for them. When I got home, the Sparrowhawk was just wrapping up his piano lesson. I gave Dr. Music a couple of Lucy cakes for himself and Dr. Nurse. In case she still isn't eating things with dairy in them, I packed some oranges and grapes for her to have instead. After putting the food away, I went to the credit union to replace my card. Their card-making machine wasn't working, so I drove across town to another place that fortunately was working. I wrote 500 words on the expansion version of the WIP. Then we went out to dinner for German Night at a favorite restaurant. This was the delayed dinner for yesterday's anniversary. It was fun to go out, but then we started talking about 1969. A lot happened in 1969. Maybe too many things. We had to change the subject. We went home and performed the ritual yearly watching of "The Santa Clause" while writing Christmas cards. I finished eight. The inestimable Sparrowhawk has ordered almost all the presents for the family, and has put the battery operated candles in the windows for a note of cheer. Every year, it takes me awhile to get used to them and stop thinking that their flickering light means something's on fire!
