ismoWoke up to SNOW again this morning! It kept melting off the roofs and the grass, but it lay there briefly before evanescing, and it continued to snow at intervals all day, sometimes in big fat floaty flakes. My notebooks tell me that April 24 has been the last snow for several recent years, so April 25 is right on the money.
Today is the Nipper's birthday! We started off the day by wishing him a happy birthday, when he texted us in appreciation of the books on Viking history and the Viking reproduction axe that we sent him. Over the course of the day, we enjoyed the fun as two more axes of varying construction arrived. He is well provided with hatchets at this point. The Redhead gave him a reproduction tunic, for the complete look.
We had coffee with a friend at the bakery and picked up another remaindered piglet-sized loaf to store in the freezer. The Philosopher requested that we change our visit from what it would have been--leave yesterday, return Thursday--to leave Thursday, return Saturday. I had already told Madame I would not be able to meet with her tomorrow, because we would be out of town. All day I thought that I should call her and say we could get together after all, but I did not get around to it. Perhaps this was not kind of me, but I felt I would like a day off. She was already not expecting me, so this would be a nice day for me to take it easy and pack up for the trip at my leisure. I will see her next week.
