We had a busy social day again. For some reason, I was awake a lot in the dead of night, so I woke up a little late. But when I was up, I made haste to get dressed so I'd be ready for anything. The brothers had said something about possibly having brunch or something, and the usual "we'll text you," so we weren't sure what was going on. It was raining, and the Sparrowhawk thought they'd probably all go home forthwith. Baby Doc and his wife had plans to go peach-picking, but that seemed unlikely. Not having heard anything, we went off to church. It was nearly over when Fritz texted us and said that Baby Doc had in fact started for home, but Fritz wanted to stop "briefly" at our house before heading out. We had a nice extra visit, and the Sparrowhawk gave back the box of his father's things Fritz had brought for him to look at. He'd taken what he wanted--mostly just one envelope of papers and a few pictures. It was nice of them to stop by to say goodbye. It's pleasant to be treated as family.

Meanwhile, I had been cooking a corned beef brisket for the potluck later on. I rubbed it with mustard and brown sugar before adding the spice packet and putting it in the oven. It tasted extremely good when it came out, but it shrank terribly! I wished I had put in two of them so we would have had more to share. Every crumb got eaten. We came home and had a great Zoom with the Diva. We had been missing her terribly and had some questions about her plans. Not all of them were immediately answered, but we're hoping to see her at the end of the month. She says she's going to manifest it!
