I can't believe how much work the Sparrowhawk has done today. We've been trying to find someone to cut the grass, which has become a bit too difficult for him to keep up with, especially when we keep traveling so much. The Sparrowhawk found a person on Next Door who mows lawns and was looking for more clients. This guy took a look at the back yard and suggested that perhaps we should cut it down a bit first and THEN he would put us on his roster. He didn't think his electric lawnmower would be up to the task. The Sparrowhawk went out forthwith, wielding his trusty weedwhacker, with occasional flourishes of his own electric mower, and tamed the wilderness most amazingly. The before and after was remarkable. It was more like a meadow than a lawn, before he got after it. Honestly, I kind of liked it that way, but it doesn't do. If you're trying to maintain respectability as an old person, you can't let the grass run wild. I certainly hope Travis the lawn guy will deign to take us on, after all this trouble.

I had been to the store this morning to pick up a few things, and was able to give the heroic and multi-talented Carlo a BLT and sweet corn for dinner, followed by a banana split. He certainly deserved it.
