I thought I'd magically bounce back today, but didn't. I'm still having weird feelings of exhaustion, in spite of a night's sleep. I won't say a good night's sleep exactly. It was okay, but didn't rate as good. I packaged up a gift, did some laundry, put away some things, had a Zoom, cooked a ham with potatoes and cabbage. The Sparrowhawk has an awful-sounding cough. He went to do the money counting anyway, but with a mask on. Some checks were placed in the wrong stack, and the process took twice as long as usual. Sigh. I'm going back to bed.

my days of "bouncing right back" are behind me.

quarter century ago, when i worked at a dot-com, the 20-somethings seemed puppy-like: eat a slipper, throw it up, have a nap, and wake up to eat the other slipper. i did not offer them advice. (unless they asked, and who at that age ever asks?)

aging is all about accepting each new normal as it manifests. wisdom is accounting for the new parameters when making plans. i'm better at it than i was five years ago. i guess that's progress.
