I didn't sleep that well last night, perhaps because I was so busy in the dream zone. In the night's most complex episode, we had moved into a type of edifice or conveyance that could navigate up and down the rivers, and were planning to take it out on a maiden voyage. For the time being, we were moored next to a large semi-open air festival market where I encountered some friends from far away, including at least one who is technically dead in the waking world. Farther into the night, I was still planning a journey when I learned that we were supposedly going on a war footing in two or three days. I wondered if I should go, because I might be called up. "But wait," I thought. "Am I in the army? When did I sign up for that?" Army or not, I was in a responsible position as usual. Shortly thereafter, just before I woke up for the final time, my face was itching. I looked in the mirror and saw that I had a rash all over my body as well as my face. It looked for all the world as if I had measles. "But I already had measles!" I thought. "How can this be?" I spent the earlier hours of the morning nervously checking my skin to make sure I wasn't actually covered in spots.

I did nothing during the day to match my diligence of the night hours. I pushed a little laundry through. We had a Zoom with Tron and were so happy to see her face. It's been awhile. The Lumberjack also made an appearance, and we were delighted to see him as well. We talked about when they might be able to come and see us. It probably won't be until after the semester ends, in May. And there are complications, so maybe not even then . . . But I'm sure we'll find a way to see them soon.

It was a damp, lowering sort of day and we didn't really get out in it. Now it's raining again. My stomach is still not wanting anything but chicken, and I was also not wanting to cook. A solution presented itself! I found two frozen meals in the freezer that I bought some time ago when they were on sale: one was chicken pad thai, and the other General Tso's chicken. They had reached the point where they should be eaten, so I heated them up. Some additional fluffy rice, green beans and salad made it a more complete meal. On the whole, it wasn't too bad, though it kinda fell into the category of "the food here is terrible, and such small portions!" We also had cherry pie, delivered by wagon by the youngest of the girls next door. She was selling pies as a fundraiser a couple of weeks ago, and now pie day has arrived!
